When, Who Can Join, and How to Sign Up
Sign-up Info
- Qualification:
All workers, 18 years old and above, registered or working in the city, or foreigners legally employed and working in New Taipei City, can apply to participate. Those who have won the Labor Star Singing Competition from this department in the past, are not allowed to participate. The following documents must be attached when applying for registration:- Employment certificate or insurance certificate (Fill in the consent form for labor insurance inquiry or provide the labor insurance details sheet or certificate of payment of membership fees in labor union after July 2025).
- Photocopy of front and back of ID card or ARC.
- Competition category:
- (a) Vitality Star Group (18-45 years old).
- (b) Charming Star Group (over 46 years old).
- (c) Migrants Group: Foreigners who are 18 years old and above, and legally employed in Taiwan.
- Registration date: From now to July 25, 2025 ( Friday ) 6:00 p.m. (For mailed registration, date shall be based on postmark.)
- Registration method: Download the registration form online from the event website www.ntpcstar2025.com.tw and submit. The necessary documents should be attached when registering. Please choose one of the following methods to submit:
- Online registration: Fill in the contestant registration information through the online registration system, and upload the required attached documents for reference.
- Download the registration form online and fill in. Submit personally or send it by registered mail to 2F, No. 88 Wenhu St., Neihu Dist., Taipei City 114061 (2025 Labor Star Singing Contest Activity Group)” and indicate the 2025 NEW Taipei Labor Star Singing Contest on the envelope (based on postmark).
- Send the filled-in registration form by fax or e-mail. Please call to confirm if registration has been successful.

Rules and Details per Round
Competition Details
- For the preliminary competition registration, each person should fill in the number of priority matches. If the number of matches exceed the upper limit, the priority matches will be adjusted according to the actual registration sequence. After the list of competition order is surely published, the number of matches shall not be changed. The appearance sequence of the preliminary contest will be announced on the activity website one week after registration ends.
- The preliminary round is limited to one entry per person. Preliminary Competition: Participants should bring one of their ID cards, driver’s license, health insurance card with photo, passport, and residence certificate to check their eligibility. Those who do not meet the qualifications will be disqualified from participating. The participating songs are limited to 150 selected songs (50 in Chinese, 50 in Taiwanese and 50 in others) in the accompaniment system. Self-provided accompaniment tapes are not accepted. The songs will be published on the official website of the event, and each contestant’s singing time is limited to one song. According to the results of the preliminary rounds, the total score will be sorted. The Charm Star Group and the Vitality Star Group will each take the top 40 to enter the semi-finals, and the migrant group will select the top 20 to enter the semi-finals. The list of participants in the semi-final competition will be announced on the official website of the event 5 days after the preliminary round and selected participants will be notified.
- Semi-finals: Contestants will draw lots to decide the singing order when they register on the same day, and should bring one of their ID cards, driver’s license, health insurance card with photo, passport, and residence certificate to check their eligibility. Those who do not meet the qualifications will be disqualified from participating. Each contestant sings a complete song, and the total score is sorted according to the results of the rematch. The top 10 of the Charm Star Group, the Vitality Star Group and the Migrants Group will enter the finals. Contestants will draw lots during the end of the semi-finals to determine the sequence of singing. If the contestants are not present at the time, the organizer will draw on their behalf. Awards will be given to the 11th to 20th contestants of each group during the final competitions.
- Finals: Participants should bring one of their ID cards, driver’s license, health insurance card with photo, passport and residence permit to check their identity. Those who do not meet the qualifications will be disqualified from participating. The finalists must sing a complete song, and the winners of each group and individual special awards (Best Appearance and Best Showmanship) will be ranked based on the total evaluation score.
- The first and second rounds of the competition will provide audition opportunities depending on the on-site conditions. However, due to factors such as venue restrictions, safety considerations, and schedule requirements, it is impossible to guarantee that each contestant has an equal opportunity to audition. The rehearsal period for the finals shall be planned according to the organizer’s plan.
- If the finalists are unable to participate in the final competition due to personal factors, they should fill in the voluntary abandonment of the competition within 3 days after the announcement of the results. Participants shall fill in the slots according to their scores and announcements will be made on the official website 1 week before the competition.
- For the semi-finals and finals, the accompaniment system provided by the organizer will be mainly used. If you have your own accompaniment tapes, please submit the mp3 file to sunstory.tw@gmail.com one week before the competition day (excluding self-playing and self-singing songs); songs for the semi-finals and finals must not be repeated.
- Competitors who bring their own backing tapes, and those who play and sing their own songs, must obtain the music copyright by themselves. If there is any infringement, the participant himself must be responsible for it.

Judges & Scoring System
- Judging: Will invite 3 to 5 professional committee members to conduct the selection in an objective, fair and open way.
- Scoring method: Pitch skills (40%), Tone and emotion (40%), Showmanship (10%), Appearance (10%)
- During the preliminary and semi-finals, the players will be selected according to the total score. In case of the same score, the individual group will be selected according to the order of pitch, tone and emotion, showmanship and appearance, and the one with a higher score will be selected. If all the scores are the same, they will be selected at the same time by judges.
- The final will be selected by the order method, and the winner with the lowest order (???) will be the champion. If the order is the same, it will be discussed and decided by the jury.

- The results of the final competition will be announced on the same day. The winner's trophy / ribbon will be awarded on the same day, and the cash prize will be paid by remittance. The 11th to 20th placers must go to the final venue in person, and the awards will be given after the finals.

Important Reminders
- ★Those who sign up for this competition are deemed to have fully understood the terms of this competition and agree to fully abide by the provisions of these rules.
- ★If the registration information of the participant is incomplete or the content of the information is unclear, the organizer will notify you separately. Please complete the correction within 2 days after the notification. Those who fail to complete the correction within the time limit will be deemed to have given up the qualification. For registration-related materials, please keep your own manuscripts. The organizer will not return them.
- ★On the day of the competition, participants should bring the original copy of their photo identification documents for reference.It may be an ID card, driver’s license, health insurance card with photo, passport, and residence permit. Other documents are not accepted.
- ★No songs can be changed one week before the first round, the second round and the final round. Each contestant can only change songs once.
- ★To maintain the fluency of the competition, each competition audition is limited to 30 seconds per person, and the pre competition audition is limited to 1 minute. No longer time is required.
- ★Those who bring their own accompaniment tape or play and sing by themselves (those who are promoted to the semi-finals: before 18:00 on September 12 (Friday) / those who are promoted to the finals: before 18:00 on October 17 (Friday), please notify the activity team and attach the songs, lyrics, scores and other information. In addition, those who bring their own backup tapes should submit MP3 files to the sunshine one week before the competition day at sunstory.tw@gmail.com ; Please bring your own instruments on the day of the competition.
- ★Participants should confirm their own health condition in advance so as to participate in this activity. If any disease occurs due to concealment, the party concerned shall be responsible for it.
- ★According to the provisions of the income tax law, a winner whose award amount exceeds NT $20000 (inclusive) shall be deducted 10% of the tax by the executive unit. A foreigner who has lived in Taiwan for less than 183 days shall be deducted 20% of the tax regardless of the amount of the award.
- ★To maintain the smooth flow of the competition in the venue, some areas have control areas such as evaluation work seats, timing seats, and score work seats. Please do not enter without the consent of the staff.
- ★The city implements “compulsory garbage sorting” operations. Participants are requested to cooperate in classifying garbage into “general garbage”, “resource garbage”, “kitchen waste”, etc. during the event. Please also bring your own water bottles and water cups. Disposable cups are not provided at the competition site. Implement environmental protection policies.
